Are you ready for an info-splosion the likes as which the brain have never seen? Do you dare to seek into the world of unknown? Are you prepared to face the deepest, darkest questions to the true nature or the subconscious mind? If so, then be prepared for me to reveal the wonderful facts of dreams!!! epic, xD
A lucid dream is a dream that occurs when one realizes mid-dream when they are dreaming, manages to stay asleep and then takes control of their dream. I can certainly write this whole blog about lucid dreams but I do not have have the whole night. We all know what is it to dream but what are dreams really? What is going on in our brains as we sleep? I m not going to cover everything because dreams is such a massive subject but I am going to share 5 mind blowing facts about dreams.
FACT 1 : Everyone dreams! Well, that was simple, lol. The only exceptions to this is to people who has severe head trauma and have damaged or missing significant chuncks of their brains. Other than that, everyone dreams almost every night. You might not remember your dream but you are in fact dreaming. This also goes for people who are blind or deaf. Just because we intend to associate dreams with vivid images and sounds does not mean that the dreams have to involve images and sounds. Blind people dream, they just dream in the sense other than sight. Deaf people dream too but in he sense other than hearing. We all don't dream in the exact same ways but we do all dream which leads me right into....
FACT 2 : Dreams consist entirely of things we experienced while awake. Every face in our dream is the face we have seen in real life, every action in every dream is an action that we have done or thought about while awake. Now obviously we never have actually done many of the crazy things we do in dreams but because of books, TV, movies, ideas, etc. of crazy things which are always in our brains before we dream about them. This helps to explain...
FACT 3 : Some people only dream in black and white. Because our dreams are influenced by media, those who grew up watching TV in black and white tend to dream in black and white. Interesting.. Upon the invention of colour TV, fewer and fewer people dream exclusively in black and white however 10% of humans still do. Okay, weird...
FACT 4 : Dreams are often just as vivid as real life. When you sleep, your brain tricks itself into the sensations of taste, touch, sound, sight and smell that seems just as real as you are awake. To make sure your body does not do anything silly as the result of this, your brain makes your body into paralysis before you start dreaming. If your brain fails to do this, your body might do something known as sleepwalking. And if your brain does this too well, you might notice something known as sleep-paralysis where you wake up and open your eyes when find that you can't move your body for a few minutes. Finally, we have...
FACT 5 : The average human being spend 6 years of their life dreaming. 6 years is a very long time and I mention this face not so much because of the answers it provides but because of the questions it raises. What are we experiencing in those 6 years? What are those implications of these experiences? There is a lot of mystery and I m curious as the anyone else out there what do we experience. Well, we only can wait for that when we die to ask God so for now, just sit back, relax and enjoy your dreams =)
